When Annika and Sanchit stepped away from Europe’s luxury corridors to return to India, it wasn’t to follow a blueprint; it was to rewrite one. Together, they imagined AKINNA: a modern luxury leather goods brand blending contemporary designs with Indian craftsmanship, created for those who carry themselves with confidence.

Our Story

Our story is one of two worlds. Inspired by Italy’s design culture and brought to life by the skilled hands of Indian artisans, every AKINNA bag carries a global vision with Indian roots, and uncompromising craftsmanship.

Our Story

In a luxury landscape long defined by heritage houses in Paris and Milan, AKINNA began with a bold question: What if India’s craftsmanship could stand at the global forefront, without compromise, without cliché?

For Sanchit Goyal, the answer was instinctive. With a Master’s in Luxury & Fashion Marketing from EDHEC Business School, France, and a career across global brands like Hugo Boss Parfums, Whirlpool, Lactalis, and Aquaporin Denmark, he understood how timeless brands are built. Yet what he sought was freedom, creative autonomy and cultural depth. Leaving a promising corporate path in Europe, he returned to India to unite operational excellence with storytelling rooted in heritage.

For Annika Saraf, the journey was equally deliberate. A graduate of Istituto Marangoni, Milan, with a Master’s in Luxury Accessories Design, she honed her craft with houses such as Prada, Stella McCartney, and Borbonese, where her Lucia Bag debuted at Milan Fashion Week FW20. Named by Vogue Italia among the Top 5 Foreign Designers in Italy in 2024, Annika’s design philosophy rests on emotion, balance, and presence.

Together, they shaped AKINNA into a brand that is bold yet understated, global yet grounded. Every bag is ethically handcrafted in India from 100% full-grain leather, with sculpted silhouettes, emerald linings, and hardware built to last. Each takes over 28 hours to create, a testament to patience and precision.

Their belief is simple: luxury should be intentional, personal, and enduring. It’s not just the bag you carry, it’s the feeling it leaves and the story it tells, long after trends fade.
