Vanessa sits within AKINNA’s early design story: a defined silhouette, a considered handle and a clear interest in the relationship between architecture and everyday use.

A silhouette with intent
The original Vanessa story centred on a strong outline and minimal detailing. Its appeal came from the way the body and handle formed one visual composition. Carried against tailoring, that clarity gave the bag a distinct presence without requiring an elaborate outfit.
The details inside
Emerald green lining appeared as a private contrast to the exterior. It introduced a second experience of the design, revealed when the bag was opened. That attention to the interior remains an important part of how we think about a handbag: something handled and used, as well as seen.

An archive, with a continuing influence
Vanessa belongs to AKINNA’s design archive. Its study of proportion continues in the collection today: defined shapes, considered handles and a clear relationship between form and everyday use. Explore the current silhouettes to find your own expression of that idea.
